Sister to Sister is all about showing love to a woman in
need. It’s about relating to the struggles women and girls experience in life
and doing something about it. Whether it was your biological sister, best
friend from school, neighbor or someone you’ve never met. You helped!
In 2004, Shalom Outreach began an initiative called Sister
to Sister that supported widows whose husbands were pastors that died suddenly.
We discovered the widows and their children were left without any protection or
provision. They were devastated emotionally, spiritually and financially. Then,
the Sister to Sister Initiative was born.
Shalom reached out to sisters like you. Those sisters,
through Shalom, purchased cows for widows. The cows produced milk. The milk
sustained widows homes and generated extra milk to sell, generating revenue.
Revenues enabled widows to purchase chickens. The chickens produced eggs, that
produced more revenue. The outcome? Self-made entrepreneurs from women who were
once destitute. All because, one sister gave from the heart. Sister to Sister.
So who is your Sister? Your sister is red, brown, black,
white and yellow. She’s a women with braided hair, straight hair, curly hair,
kinky hair… a women with a heart, often filled with sorrow…a women with red,
warm blood running through her veins. The blood. The common thread that binds
us together, Sister to Sister.
Shalom Outreach is expanding the Sister to Sister program.

Purchase a Cow and Staples for a Widow and Her Children -

Support a widow. One cow and a few household staples can
change a woman’s life forever. The milk sold from the cows provide revenues
leading to shelter and food for her and her children. It also enables her to
pay for her children’s education. There is no such thing as free public

Purchase Sanitary Napkins to Keep Girls in School - $30.00
USD:
In third world/lesser developed countries, girls miss an
average of 1 week of school per month because they do not have sanitary
products. Eventually, they fall behind and drop out of school. This often leads
to girls being sold off to men with multiple wives. It often leads to a life of
misery. A complete reusable sanitary napkin kit includes reusable (washable)
sanitary napkins, undergarments, soap and a washcloth. Having a kit can make the difference between
stay ing in school and having a chance at a brighter future or having to drop
out of school.
Sponsor a Student Via Our Scholarship Initiative - $850.00
USD (per year):
Of the many countries Shalom travels to on the Continent of
Africa, none offer a free education to students. If a child’s parents can’t
afford to pay school tuition, that child does not go to school. There is no
such thing as free or public education.
In most cases, this leads to a life of despair resulting in hustling,
utter poverty, and shorter life spans.
Many of the children are orphans from war-torn places like Uganda. Putting
a child through school, giving them a chance to succeed in life has
generational positive impacts on families.
Rather than giving them a few meals or clothing, scholarships give
students an opportunity to have a good life. The $850.00 covers tuition, books,
required uniforms and sundry other requirements. Sponsors will receive pictures and updates of
the scholarship recipient. Please
consider sponsoring a child.
Sponsor an Entrepreneur and Help Encourage Women - $400.00
to $2500.00 USD:
Would you like to be a blessing to a women who is trying
desperately to make ends meet? Women in
Africa can be quite resourceful. They have to figure out a skill and make a
living from it. Shalom’s Sister 2 Sister
Program provides grants to women who have a desire to become and
entrepreneur. They have proven skill but
just need assistance to purchase equipment and/or to rent space for their
business. Depending on the business, the
start-up or expansion can be as little as $400 and our grants go up to a
maximum of $2500.00. We never give money
directly to the women. Rather, we
purchase what is needed and provide it to the entrepreneur, working with our
intermediaries on the ground to help ensure success.
